About
Hello,
I’m Rob.
Broadstairs, Kent. Usually somewhere colder.

I’m a business owner who, for reasons that remain unclear, keeps signing up for endurance events that make absolutely no sense once training actually starts.
Over the years I’ve rowed across the Mediterranean, climbed mountains, raced bikes, boxed for charity and generally found new and inventive ways to make myself uncomfortable. In March 2026 I completed the 500km Lapland Arctic Ultra on foot, pulling everything I needed in a sled.
Most of them raise money for charity, often for organisations close to home that quietly do incredible work. The discomfort is entirely my own doing.
When COVID arrived I helped out where I could, at the QEQM Hospital and later as a volunteer with the Royal Voluntary Service and St John Ambulance.
Beyond the expeditions
- Freeman of the City of London
- Liveryman of the Honourable Company of Master Mariners
- Circumnavigators Club: International Governor, UK Chapter Outreach and UK Chapter Secretary
- Governor of Foreland Fields School, a special school in Kent
- Member of the Kent & Canterbury Club
By trade I’m a ship’s captain: around two decades at sea, with a Master Mariner (Unlimited) certificate to show for it. These days my day job is CWU Capital, the property lending and investment platform I co-founded. It involves noticeably fewer sleds, which my knees appreciate.
